[Obligatory nostalgia post?] "Tree God" original graphite version + digital version
Picture from 2013. This is what the final sketch looked like before scanning and coloring.
(Nostalgia post since I'm finally considering parting ways with the original.)

The Thing in the Chair
All hail the amorphous, celestial, nightmare calamari.
(I may or may not also be playing too much Bloodborne between commissions.)

commisssion: Makatza (before and after)
Commission of an OC for a Promethean: the Created campaign. A scene before the Galataean was able to escape the clutches of her tormentor, and adventure with a ragtag group of other supportive Prometheans. Sometimes the right spark of inspiration can take the form of a cat (her athanor, a little similar to a totem) nonchalantly batting at one's [metaphorical and physical] chains.

more Japanese mythology one-shots
More mini scenes from Japanese mythology I did for an anime convention I recently attended (my first art booth, yay).
"Atsuuikakura."
Copic markers on 4"x6" bristol.
Atsuuikakura is a creature from Ainu mythology. It is a profound, life-changing story of a dead woman's haunted undergarments washing ashore and transforming into a giant human-eating sea cucumber by night.
"Kappa."
Copic markers on 4"x6" bristol.
The Kappa is a bizarre and whimsical critter who is fond of sumo, cucumbers, and luring people and horses into water to drown them so they can rip their livers out through their buttholes.
"Yuki Onna"
Copic markers on 4"x6" bristol.
The snow woman. His body is ready...to freeze to death.
"Ao Oni, Aka Oni"
Copic markers on 4"x6" bristol.

Birth of Gashadokuro
Micron pen on bristol.
Gashadokuro is a ginormous (like, 15+ meters) ravenous skeleton formed out of corpses of those who have starved to death.
...I've been watching a lot of Attack on Titan.
